Living in Style Gallery was founded by Beata Szabó, a Hungarian born collector with two decades of experience sourcing Mid Century pieces across Europe. What began as a personal obsession with post war Italian and Scandinavian design became a gallery, a physical space where objects with a story find their next home.Every piece in our collection is hand selected, gallery checked, rewired and cleaned to the standard you expect from Marylebone’s most considered interiors destination. We don’t stock; we curate.

A discerning eye finds what a catalogue never could.With over 25 years in the business, Beata Szabó, owner of Living in Style Gallery, discovered her passion for Art Deco and Mid Century Modern furniture while living in Paris. Widely regarded as a connoisseur and expert in Mid Century Modern, Vintage, Retro and Contemporary European Furniture, she sources the most intriguing pieces and brings them here to the UK market.A natural creative flair and a knack for finding the most interesting artisan and designer pieces, Beata has personally curated a collection of furniture, lighting, mirrors and home accessories that is unique to London.
How We Think
The Mid Century era understood that design should serve life, not the other way around.
We try to trace every piece before it enters the gallery. Maker, decade, origin, material. We want to know everything we can about our pieces. Not all pieces, though, come from an established name or company. Sometimes a piece is simply itself and needs no famous name to justify it. Our clients deserve to know exactly what they’re bringing home.
We rewire, reupholster and clean, but we never refinish, overpaint or alter. Patina is not a flaw to correct; it’s the proof of use, a record of the object’s life.
We carry fewer pieces than our competitors. Intentionally. It must be something we also like. Every object on the floor has earned its place, because it stopped us the moment we found it
